Spread Creek, Jackson Wyoming Dispersed Camping Campground Review

Camping spot at Spread Creek Dispersed Campsite

While we were visiting Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone, we started our trip outside of Jackson, Wyoming. We started here because we were coming up from the south. We had a few campsites in mind, but they either had no cell/LTE service for work or the road was a bit rougher than we were willing to travel.

Spread Creek has a 5-day limit, but we managed to stretch it out to 8 or 9 days. It pays to be neat and clean and nice to the person that checks. If you get further back in, they don’t really check that often, as the road is a bit rough. There are some sites further back that will accommodate a 40-foot rig, but they are sparse. Much better for smaller rigs.

This is a great base camp for Grand Teton National Park and South Yellowstone. It was also about 30 minutes from Jackson, so easy access there. A dump station and potable water fill is available at Gros Ventre campground, about 20 minutes away.

So, if you want to spend some time here and either don’t want to spend the high campground rates or didn’t get reservations, this is a great place to stay. Explore the other dispersed camping in the area as well; you might find another spot to extend your stay!
